Beechpoint’s summer staff positions are much like a short-term missions project. If you are 18+ years of age and are focused on service, relationships, recreation and teaching, then this 10 week summer staff position may be for you. Summer staff applicants mustbe at least 18 years of age, and leadership applicant’s average 21 years of age.
Summer Staff Positions
Cabin Leader: The heart of the program is the Cabin Leader. They are the ones who develop relationships with the campers that can last a lifetime. It is through their lives that the campers will see the reality of Jesus’ love. They are a role model to the camper, their activity instructor, devotional leader, ethical adviser, and a friend. Cabin Leaders must be at least 18 years of age and enjoy working with kids. A year of post-high school experience is preferred.
Lifeguard: Lifeguards have the responsibility of ensuring the campers’ safety at the lake. They must have a current Red Cross LG, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification. Lifeguards must be 18 years of age and the waterfront director must be 21 years of age. Our waterfront staff supports other areas of program and camper care in their spare time.
Head Wrangler / Asst. Wrangler: Work with our equestrian program in leading trail rides, teaching basic riding and safety, and caring for horses and barn area. Our barn staff also oversees the care and function for the “petting” farm and supports other areas of program and camper care in their spare time.
Unit Leader: Support and mentor the Cabin Leaders. Unit Leaders have typically had two years experience with our program and are 21 years of age.
Other staff positions that are needed on a volunteer basis include Multimedia, Office Admin Assistant, and Camp Nurse (RN). Volunteers are expected to function as part of our staff team and commit to the same level or quality and team work as a paid staff member. Food and lodging are provided and there as an option to raise financial missionary support. Here are some details about each role:
Multimedia: Work with audio and visual media. Put together slideshows and movie shorts, run sound, manage equipment, and complete an optional project for your portfolio and our use for advertising.
Office Admin: The office makes it all possible! From data entry to public relations you will be a part of the behind the scene’s management of the camp.
Summer Camp Nurse (RN): Our entire summer health program is supported by volunteer RN’s who serve from one week to all summer. From scraped knees to medication distribution, our nurses keep camp happening.
Schedule and Compensation
Summer Staff training begins Monday, May 29th. The last day of camp is Saturday, August 5th. Summer staff will receive $2000 base pay that is broken into biweekly paychecks. Returning staff and leadership staff receive incremental raises each year they return. Staff have the option of raising “matching support” like a missions trip by sharing their ministry with personal supporters, and by raising support staff can double their pay. Meals and lodging are provided during the week. Meal and lodging may also be available on the weekend depending on rental use.

All staff members conduct themselves in a way which will exemplify Christ and further the ministry of Beechpoint. Staff are expected to fulfill regulations regarding lights out, automobiles, limited cell phone use, and neatness of dress. Questionable activities such as the use of tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and non-prescription drugs are prohibited during your time of service.

Priority Hiring- January 1st: Applicants who apply before January 1st will have hiring priority.
General Hiring- March 1st: Applicants who apply before March 1st will be considered in the order that they are received.
Waiting List: Applicants who apply after March 1st, or who are qualified but do not receive a position because they have been filled, will be added to a waiting list. Last minute openings will be offered to applicants on our waiting list first.
