We had a great Winter Blast this past week. It was the first time we tried doing Winter Blast during the Christmas Break, and we were a little concerned when we only had about 15 pre-registered campers. So come the first day of Winter Blast we had no idea of what to expect. We ended up having 40 campers and about 25 volunteers and staff. As a Program Director, I will take those Camper to Staff ratio any day. The Campers and Staff had a lot of fun doing modified winter activities, as we did not have any snow. They played in the gym, played gaga and broom ball, shot archery and riflery, and participated in the Great Klondike Derby. Then, Monday night our prayers were answered, and it snowed! It wasn’t much, but it was enough to hit the sledding hill. And it was awesome to see the kids get that added bonus of sledding. During the Bible time the campers learned about how to grow in their faith, as they learned the importance of prayer, reading the bible, and attending church. This Winter Blast was a great time of outdoor activities, playing in the gym, sledding, and learning how to grow in your faith. We can’t wait until Winter Blast 2 the first weekend in February!
